This piece was taken for a Statistics Art competition at my university. Some how I was lucky enough to be awarded first place. This piece will need some explaining, so bare with me. The contest required us to take a photo which captured statistics in everyday life. I decided to take my Kodak digital camera and get a shot of the skyline (well, part of at least) of my city. The reasoning behind the picture is thus... The buildings represent the bars of a histogram and the lights in them represent the "data points". This histogram is reflected in the water below creating another histogram. Now, in statistics a histogram is described as a "normal distribution" or a "skewed distribution". Basically, skewed means that the tallest bars in the histogram are closer to the left or the right. Therefore, you have the title...Skewed Reflections. enjoy.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
